Debbie V. and I met while attending AssistU. We were in different classes with different trainers, and we had decided on almost the same name for our business. Two Debbie’s, just about the same name for their business, hmmm – this could get VERY confusing. Our trainers suggested we “meet” to talk this over.
We laugh now when we tell the story, because Debbie V. was further along in the training than I was and she called me with the intention of letting me know that she felt very strongly that she should have first choice in a business name. Well, almost 3 hours later — we were still on the phone, talking and sharing our lives. We had so many things in common and so much of our lives paralleled; we were immediate friends.
Debbie V and I talked just about every day. We worked with some clients together and had some in the same industry. We supported each other’s growing business and learned together. We decided to go to an eWomenNetwork Conference in Dallas to network, learn, and just have fun!
While attending this conference, we were standing at a table talking, when a woman walked by, backed up, and said, “I think I am supposed to meet you two.” Ann felt drawn to Debbie V. and me, and we started talking, sharing, and realized we all had lots in common; again immediate friends.
Over the next few years we would visit and provide resources and support in our businesses. One day we started talking about how we “wished” there was a virtual place where women could share, communicate, and support each other in their business. While, working virtually does have its rewards, you also can feel alone. But, we wanted it to feel like an actual place — the idea of Razorr had just been born.
