Making a Difference

by Debbie Vignone on September 1, 2008

This is a subject very close to my heart. In fact, it is who I am. For as far back as I can remember, I have always said that I don’t just want to work, I want to do something that makes a difference. It’s taken many years and many different paths, but I am finally there, well almost as it’s a daily journey; hopefully, one that will never end.

Razorr is one way that I am making a difference – when it launches and we have customers, we will make a difference in their lives because they will be able to communicate with their teams more effectively, which will help them and their teams, which will save them valuable time, share new ideas which will bring more customers for them, which will impact more lives! It’s a domino effect – making a difference usually is.

The long-term goal for Razorr is to set up the Razorr foundation for women and children. Not exactly sure what that will look like, but it is sure to be GREAT and sure to make a difference in many more lives.

So those are just 2 brief ideas as to how Razorr will make a difference, but I like to live in the present, so I’ll share how Razorr, indirectly, is already making a difference to me at this time.

You see, I have 2 amazing partners and friends in Razorr, who not only support me, but push me when I don’t want to be pushed. We’ve all been there. Anyway, writing posts on this blog is just one of the ways they have pushed me, because I don’t really like to write. Actually, it’s not really the writing, it’s the what do I write about, why would a bunch of strangers care what I have to say, what lesson will this have? Well, after much brainstorming and agonizing over this, I have come to the conclusion, with their help, that none of those questions matter – - everyone is a stranger at one time or another and it doesn’t have to have a lesson, it’s about conversation – and boy do I know how to talk!!

Their pushing me has forced me to think about different topics to write about (so many of which did NOT appeal to me – boring!), which forced me to think about what is important enough for me to want to write about, and I kept coming back to “Making a Difference”, so here it is! Pretty raw right now, but the ideas are beginning to form.

While many (maybe all) of these posts may not, directly, have much to do with Razorr or business, they may or may not have a lesson, who knows, but they will be from the heart, which is the best place I know to come from. There will probably be lots of stories, too; my nieces always say, “Aunt Debbie, you always have a story”, so I’m thinking of sharing them here as well (or somewhere on this blog!). If you’re interested, keep coming back; if not, glad you visited anyway!
